The 49th annual 2010 Five Colleges Book Sale is over—and it was everything we hoped for!

We had huge crowds yesterday and lots of bargain hunters today—and everyone seemed happy with every aspect of the sale. We have rough figures which should allow us to send at least $10,000 to the scholarship funds for each of the five colleges—Vassar, Mt. Holyoke, Simmons, Wellesley, and Smith.

And we want to express our sincere thanks to every single person who helped us. To all our donors: you gave us beautiful books, and helped us put on a wonderful sale—thank you so much.

And to all our volunteers—sorters, pricers, packers, luggers, overseers, drivers, sweepers, loaders,and many more jobs, large and small, that made it all possible—many thanks to you as well. We could not have done it without the huge team effort—it was a community event that brought out the best in all of us, and that represents wonderful values.
