About the Valley News
Valley News team to report from Haiti

A reporter and photographer from the Valley News are on their way into Haiti this morning, primarily to cover the Upper Valley medical workers performing relief work there.

The reporter, Greg Trotter, and the photographer, Jason Johns, flew into the Dominican Republic yesterday. It wasn't easy, though, due to icy roads that caused them to miss their flight out of Boston.

Arranging this trip hasn't been easy either, and we're appreciative of the people at Dartmouth College, the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Partners in Health who have assisted us.

Greg is a relative newcomer to our reporting staff. He and his wife Kerry joined us this fall. His beat is Hartford, although he has also written many of our Haiti stories since the earthquake hit. Those stories have been posted in a special page on our website, and will be updated with our reports from Haiti itself.

Jason joined the Valley News staff in 2007, and you can see samples of his work in our online Photo Gallery. He is also responsible for our popular Zip Codes photo and interview feature.

If circumstances permit, Greg and Jason are hoping to file their first report from Haiti for the Wednesday edition of the Valley News, so be sure to pick one up.

You can also read more on Valley Buzz about Haiti relief efforts at a local restaurant and among Dartmouth students.
