Christine Walker, Executive Director of Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission, and Steve Schneider, Enfield Town Manager, discussing the Route 4 corridor, one of our region’s most important arterial roads.
Vital Communities was invited to join the Upper Valley League of Women Voters (LWV) along with the 3 regional planning commissions in convening a small group of municipal officials – both elected and appointed – to strengthen the relationships between the decision-makers.
While many talented citizen leaders do effective work for their towns, the LWV realized there are issues spanning municipal boundaries that weren’t getting the attention they deserved and so the LWV saw an opportunity to provide a forum for inter-municipal collaboration.
The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation – Upper Valley Region generously provided funding for 4 quarterly meetings. Recently, these meetings have focused on transportation, an issue common to all municipalities.
