Valley Buzz Alerts

Email Alerts

Email alerts are only available for registered users. If you would like to register you may do so here. All email alerts will be sent to the email address that is registered to your account.

Email - All Posts

To receive email alerts about all new content posted to the Valley Buzz, follow these steps:

1. Click the Notifications tab on your user account page
2. Click the Content Type sub-tab
3. Check the box next to "Advertisers Blog"
4. Select the Send Interval
5. Select Mail as the Send Method
6. Click the Save button

Email - Blog posts

To receive Email alerts about the new content of a single Valley Buzz blog, follow the steps:

1. Go to the Valley Buzz's main page
2. Click the red "Subscribe To: ..." link found at the bottom of a blog's post
3. Select the Send Interval
4. Select Mail as the Send Method
5. Click the Subscribe button

Email - Category/Keyword Posts

To receive email alerts about all new content posted to the Valley Buzz that is tagged with a certain category or keyword, follow these steps:

1. Click the Notifications tab on your user account page
2. Click the Tags sub-tab
3. Check the box next to the keyword or category you want alerts for
4. Select the Send Interval
5. Select Mail as the Send Method
6. Click the Save button

"SMS" Text Message Alerts

Normal texting costs will apply

SMS alerts might not work with all mobile phones

SMS alerts are only available for registered users. If you would like to register you may do so here. Before a subscription by SMS will work, you must first configure a mobile phone under the Mobile Settings tab on your user account page. Fill out the form given on the page and follow any additional instructions provided.

SMS - All Posts

To receive SMS alerts about all new content posted to the Valley Buzz, follow these steps:

1. Click the Notifications tab on your user account page
2. Click the Content Type sub-tab
3. Check the box next to "Advertiser's Blog"
4. Select the Send Interval
5. Select SMS as the Send Method
6. Click the Save button

SMS - Blog posts

To receive SMS alerts about the new content of a single Valley Buzz blog, follow the steps:

1. Go to the Valley Buzz's main page
2. Click the red "Subscribe To: ..." link found at the bottom of a blog's post
3. Select the Send Interval
4. Select SMS as the Send Method
5. Click the Subscribe button

To receive SMS alerts about all new content posted to the Valley Buzz that is tagged with a certain category or keyword, follow these steps:

1. Click the Notifications tab on your user account page
2. Click the Tags sub-tab
3. Check the box next to the keyword or category you want alerts for
4. Select the Send Interval
5. Select SMS as the Send Method
6. Click the Save button

RSS Feeds

RSS alerts do not require you to be a registered user to use.

Feed - All Posts

To receive RSS alerts about all new content posted to the Valley Buzz, follow these steps:

1. Click this link or click the RSS feed link found at the bottom right side of the Valley Buzz's main page
2. Copy the RSS's address and paste it into your chosen RSS reader

Feed - Blog posts

To receive RSS alerts about the new content of a single Valley Buzz blog, follow the steps:

1. Go to the Valley Buzz's main page
2. Click the red title of the blog you want alerts for
3. Click the RSS feed link found at the bottom right side of the blog's main page
4. Copy the RSS's address and paste it into your chosen RSS reader

User Page Alerts

User page alerts are only available for registered users. If you would like to register you may do so here. User page alerts are delivered to your Valley Buzz account as messages. These messages can be checked by clicking the Messages tab on your user account page.

User Page - All Posts

To receive user page alerts about all new content posted to the Valley Buzz, follow these steps:

1. Click the Notifications tab on your user account page
2. Click the Content Type sub-tab
3. Check the box next to "Advertiser's Blog"
4. Select the Send Interval
5. Select Simple as the Send Method
6. Click the Save button

User Page - Blog posts

To receive user page alerts about the new content of a single Valley Buzz blog, follow the steps:

1. Go to the Valley Buzz's main page
2. Click the red "Subscribe To: ..." link found at the bottom of a blog's post
3. Select the Send Interval
4. Select Simple as the Send Method
5. Click the Subscribe button

User Page - Category/Keyword Posts

To receive user page alerts about all new content posted to the Valley Buzz that is tagged with a certain category or keyword, follow these steps:

1. Click the Notifications tab on your user account page
2. Click the Tags sub-tab
3. Check the box next to the keyword or category you want alerts for
4. Select the Send Interval
5. Select Simple as the Send Method
6. Click the Save button

Unsubscribing to alerts

If you no longer wish to receive a subscribed alert, follow these steps:

1. Click the Notifications tab on your user account page
2. Click the sub-tab Author, Content Type, or Tags according to the alert you wish to unsubscribe
3. uncheck the box next to the alert you want to unsubscribe
4. Click the Save button
