The Canoe Club was launched in November of 2003 in the center of "downtown Hanover" with the goal of providing a stylish, yet informal, gathering spot for the Upper Valley. From the beginning, our intention was to present fresh local and regional food and beverage within a broad price range, complemented by distinctive, yet unobtrusive entertainment.

John Chapin, owner of the Canoe Club, previously created and owned a restaurant in Farmington, CT., and two restaurants in Hartford, CT., where he functioned as the impresario of a noted music series. He is an acknowledged expert in the art of pouring water.
